“Childhood is the ground on which we wak for a lifetime”. It is this quote by the Brazilian writer Lya Luft that opens Cecilia Tazza’s thesis. She is one of the La Tenda Community educators who assists the vulnerable families in the Valter Baldaccini Foundation’s socio-educational project “With the Families”.
With Cecelia’s voice and her thesis: “Brazelton’s Touchpoints method in practice with families: the Valter Baldaccini Foundation Project”, With the Families has also found space in a university classroom, at Roma Tre. After setting the theoretical paradigms, it tells and describes her professional experiences with the families in the area who are experiencing difficulties after the birth of a baby.
It is the Touchpoints approach of the American pediatrician, Dr. Brazelton, that guides her work and allows her to create opportunities for growth and the development of solid relationships around these children and working together with parents on their skills. As Cecelia writes, “taking care of parents also means supporting the child and his development in a healthy and adequate way.”
We are happy that With the Families has found resonance in the academic world, thus giving important recognition to the project as well as the opportunity to share and spread good educational practices so that all children can have the best possible start.
Congratulations to Dr. Cecilia Tazza for this splendid achievement!
