Just coming of age, Lorna is the mother of Jadel, a bright and lively nine-month-old baby. Her story recalls that of many young women in the social project dedicated to underage mothers that the Valter Baldaccini Foundation creates in Mathare, one of the largest slums in Nairobi, Kenya.
Lorna has always lived in conditions of extreme fragility and poverty. Her daily life is marked by prostitution, violence, loneliness, and abandonment. She attended school until she became pregnant and was forced to leave it, no longer able to pay the expenses. After the pregnancy, she lived for a time with the baby's father, but she ran away due to his violence and alcoholism, just like Lorna's father.
Today Lorna has returned to live with her mother, and you can change her life. This Christmas choose to support her with a donation, offering her the opportunity to attend a workshop dedicated to Mathare mothers. Thanks to you, Lorna will be able to receive groceries every week, psychological support and above all learn a trade, the only possible way to change her life.
Please become Lorna's lucky star, and give today. Every small gesture will be fundamental to changing her life. Thank you with all my heart!
