These are not easy times in Kosovo. On 16 July our ministry added it to the list of countries most at risk due to the pandemic. The borders are closed, school and work activities are blocked and the number of people who have contracted the virus is growing dramatically.
This has had and is having an predictable impact on plans we wanted to work on with Massimo and Cristina at the Leskoc House. We planned an intervention entirely dedicated to women and their path towards autonomy and independence through training and work, but at this moment this impossible to achieve.
Therefore, we decided to suspend this socio-educational project and focus on House needs during this difficult period. In fact, the House and agricultural cooperative revenues have decreased due to the suspension of the bakery activities and the sale of milk.
Thanks to the support of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation, twenty new calves have been purchased, which in a few months, can be resold becoming an important source of income for the House and its inhabitants.
In this difficult moment, we are continuing the A barn for Leskoc House project created last year, which our volunteers had the opportunity to see up close during their trip last September.
