From July 5- 8, 2024 we were in Kosovo with a small group of volunteers.
We returned five years after our last trip, and it was a special occasion for two reasons: the Leskoc House is ten years old and it is the 10th anniversary of Valter Baldaccini's passing to eternal life. We went to a place that he personally helped to create.
In fact, since 2014, first through UMBRAGROUP and then with the Foundation, we have been close to this facility managed by Caritas Regionale Umbria. Together we carry out social projects dedicated to the boys and girls who grew up in the House and who today study or work.
In fact, the House hosts orphaned children or children who live in conditions of extreme poverty. Today there are ten, and once they become adults, through the work paths created by the agricultural cooperative, the boys and girls have the opportunity to work or continue their studies.
The days spent together were intense, a mix of emotions that each of us experienced with great involvement because the Lescok House is a beautiful place that makes you feel immediately welcomed and involved. Despite the short stay, our volunteers had the opportunity to:
Don't miss the next issue of our magazine "From the roots" dedicated to the socio-educational and work inclusion project that the Foundation carries out in Kosovo and to this volunteering experience at the Leskoc House. It will be available very soon!
Faleminderit Lescok (Thank you Leskoc) for these beautiful days, we will be back soon!
