Dardana and Ariana are sisters who are attending university thanks to two scholarships linked to the socio-educational project active in Kosovo.
Raised at the Leskoc house managed by Caritas Umbria, a place designed for children and young people without parents or from extremely difficult family backgrounds, Dardana and Ariana have a complex past having grown up in a country where women, are considered only as wives and mothers, especially in rural areas.
But thanks to this scholarship their life is changing.
Dardana and Ariana have always been very good students and they are grateful to be attending the University. They could not afford it economically and had to deal with strong cultural resistance, but a few months ago they moved to Pristina and they began a new adventure.
«The impact was not easy and we still struggle, both because of the jump from high school and because we weren't used to a big city," they write. "We must say that these changes have frightened us a bit, but we are also happy to be in Pristina. We are very happy at the Sisters' boarding school, they are kind as are the other girls. Every two weeks we have a meeting with our fellow students on a theme that we decide together. Also, the city offers many clubs and opportunities for recreation but we try to stay focused on our studies».
A path of emancipation and social redemption has begun for them. This would not have been possible without the scholarship which has given an opportunity to those who are most in difficulty.
You too can give the possibility of concrete help with a donation in support of Dardana and Ariana. Thanks to your beautiful gesture, they will be able to continue their studies and will be able to accomplish great things «so that our passions also become our work».
Give these young women a future now, donate now. Thank you so much.
