"Distant but close to families", a new project for our fifth birthday

"We must pay attention not only to our community, we are part of the human family and we want to give concreteness to  solidarity.” Valter Baldaccini

We produced a video in memory of the anniversary of Valter Baldaccini's passage to eternal life. In it, we focus on one of the sentences we found among his writings which is dedicated to the value of solidarity.

Five years ago the Valter Baldaccini Foundation was born from the idea of giving more and more "concreteness to solidarity.” The Foundation's commitment is carried out every day, standing alongside those who are most vulnerable, creating social and educational projects aimed at fragile families, children who do not have access to study, and men and women who have lost their jobs.

Like everyone else, the Foundation was also overwhelmed by the COVID-19 emergency, but this has not prevented us from carrying on our ongoing projects. It has required us to readjust.

The first weeks of the health emergency highlighted how this disruption, which we are still experiencing, has had deep social and economic consequences. Our friends working with the territorial Caritas, who are closest to the families in greatest difficulty, have confirmed this.

We have therefore chosen to remember our fifth anniversary by carrying out a new social project in collaboration with the Caritas of Gubbio, “Distant but close to families”, aimed at supporting vulnerable families who need financial help for shopping, paying utility bills and rent, buying diapers and baby food, and coping with the sudden expenses that any family may to incur, such as a broken boiler or washing machine.

During this emergency many lost their jobs, the only source of income for their family. The Foundation's commitment is therefore to give concrete help to these families in difficulty.

We are there, but to help more and more people we need your support.

Thanks to you, many families will be able to have groceries, rent support and will be able to face daily expenses and overcome this moment of crisis.

Find out all the details of the social project Distant but close to families and find out how your precious gift can help those who are in great difficulty .

Donate now, stay close to those who are most vulnerable.
Everything will be fine, thanks to you.
