International Business Week Umbria, organized by UMBRAGROUP and now in its fourth edition, is a week dedicated to training students in our area. For five days this year, from June 10th – 14th, the participants became entrepreneurs and were divided into teams to simulate how a company is managed, how investments are made for new products, and how to work as part of a team. All this is done under the guidance of professionals from all over the world who share their skills and experience with the students.
Among the participants this year, we had girls from Kosovo, Aida and Antoneta, for whom the Foundation donated a scholarship to participate in this important educational opportunity.
Here’s what they wrote to us after this intense week:
What will we take with us from this incredible week? We want to recall a quote from Malcolm X “Education is the passport to the future, because tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. We were thrilled to have had the chance to participate in Business Week. We had fun, and it really exceeded our expectations.
It was a wonderful experience for us to work with Italian students. We’ve learned so many new things by listening to the case histories of many successful Italian companies, as well as the presentations by important professionals. It was great to work with young people from different cities in Umbria, and we were really impressed by their creativity and inventiveness. Working as a team, we learned how important it is to be respectful, have fun, love what you do, and to make yourself available to others in an intelligent way.
With the common goal of achieving great things, it is important to always strive for excellence, communicate and listen, make yourself useful based on your abilities and potential, and always stay positive. As Henry Ford said: “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success.”
All of the above were elements that made the team we were part of great and helped us win this year’s edition of Business Week.
Thank you for this week in Italy. Thanks to the Valter Baldaccini Foundation for giving us the opportunity to participate in the Business Week program; to Paola, who guided and supported us, and to Luca Uccellani of Caritas of Gubbio who accompanied us on our visits to some of the cities in this beautiful area. What a magnificent culture and architecture! Thanks for everything you did for us.
Aida and Antoneta’s scholarships were provided through the projects we are carrying out in Kosovo.
