On Women’s Day this year, the women who work at UMBRAGROUP met and recorded a special episode of "Women of impact", the italian radio program that we produce together with Radio Gente Umbria hosted by Beatrice Baldaccini and Fabio Luccioli.
There was a very special person at this event: Sister Federica Zoia, a courageous and passionate female doctor who lives in Kenya and who told us what it means for her to be a woman and to live with the mission of serving those who are most alone every day, the poor and needy.
We are very attached to Sister Federica, as was Valter Baldaccini and together with her we carry on Mutanu: the pink garden, the job placement project that is giving twenty-two women the opportunity to become independent and embark on a path towards emancipation. This project, Sister Federica told us, "is creating a new mental paradigm for these women, giving them the concrete possibility of acknowledging themselves and being a force in their own lives. These women used to walk with their heads down, but no longer, because they're regaining their dignity."
Thank you Sister Federica for your touching and intense testimony.
