Donations collected during the 2nd Valter Baldaccini Memorial, promoted by SIR Safety Conad Perugia and UMBRAGROUP, came to almost € 5.000. The entire proceeds, a substantial amount, will be allocated to the Family and Work Project. This project is carried out together with the Diocesan Caritas of Foligno, which has activated twenty work grants for twenty families in difficulty over the last two years.
But there’s more: Antonio Baldaccini, CEO of UMBRAGROUP, has decided to double the amount, donating another € 5.000 to the project. “I strongly believe in this project, and as an entrepreneur, I believe that work grants can be a concrete tool for social reintegration. I hope that my fellow entrepreneurs will also become aware of solidarity projects that give people looking for redemption a second chance. There is nothing more important and virtuous than dedicating oneself to developing one’s own community, including those who are sometimes invisible in the eyes of a purely capitalist economy.”
One of the Project grants was activated last April and UMBRAGROUP and resulted in a fixed-term contract for Leonardo, an unemployed father.
“Thanks to all the people who came to Pala Barton. Thanks to this special gesture, ten new career paths can begin – said Beatrice Baldaccini, President of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation- These € 10.000 represent concrete hope and an opportunity for redemption for the most vulnerable families in our area. It excites me and warms my heart to have this tangible proof that the value of solidarity goes beyond the waves of negativity and nihilism that are currently circulating. I strongly believe that the civility of a nation is defined by the way it takes care of the weakest people. Thank you all very much for supporting the Foundation, and with it, the most vulnerable, who, with our help, will have an opportunity to reemerge and stand of their own two feet”.
“Thanks, first of all, to the Baldaccini Foundation and to UMBRAGROUP for this increasingly important collaboration with whom we can meet the needs of vulnerable families in our community” commented Mauro Masciotti, the Director of the Diocesan Caritas of Foligno. He emphasized, “For our part, we will guarantee a daily commitment of our team’s availability to those who are in need. Thanks also to the donors, who are allowing us to continue this project this year. The invitation to the community is to continue on with us in this project and give us the opportunity to establish other work grants, because work is the only weapon that can not only defeat economic difficulties but can also give back a pinch of dignity to these women and men - director Masciotti concluded- that is the only road to take.”
