On Monday 5 February, at 7.00 pm, a lesson dedicated to Valter Baldacciniand the recently published book that collects his writings and speeches will take place at the Serafico of Assisi. This is a part of the program of the Giuseppe Toniolo socio-political school.
The theme of the school’s 2024 edition "At the heart of democracy. Participating between history and future" is inspired the Blessed Toniolo’s idea of democracy: "that civil order in which all social, legal and economic forces, in the fullness of their hierarchical development, cooperate proportionally to the common good, bringing together in the last result to the prevailing advantage of the lower classes”.
Democracy recognizes the equal dignity of all people and guarantees everyone access to social, economic, and civil rights. However, for democracy to be guaranteed, it requires the participation and attention of all citizens. No one can feel exempt from this responsibility and commitment to the realization of the common good. From this perspective, Valter Baldaccini is an example: a man who, in his private and professional life always acted by putting people and the community at the center.
The following will speak on the topic:
We are looking forward to share this moment of reflection dedicated to the values and actions of Valter Baldaccini for the common good.
