Conservation and fairness are the values at the core of cleaning a public area in the evocative setting of the Jail Hermitage of Assisi. This has been organized by the Valter Baldaccini Foundation in collaboration with UMBRAGROUP and the sponsorship of the City of Assisi, to remember Valter Baldaccini seven years after his passage to eternal life and to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the Foundation dedicated to him.
There were fifty participants, including volunteers from the Foundation, representatives of the Municipality of Assisi, managers and RSU of UMBRAGROUP who, during the morning of Saturday 8 May got to work cleaning up the the waste in an area in front of Assisi’s Jail Hermitage.
"Every day at the Foundation we restore dignity and build opportunities for those who are most in difficulty - commented Beatrice Baldaccini, President of the Valter Baldaccini Foundation. To celebrate our sixth anniversary and remember my father, we were guided by an important message from Pope Francis: the neglect of creation and social injustices influence each other. For this reason, we have symbolically chosen, on this important occasion for us, to put ourselves at the service of the community and take care of the common good, in a place full of meaning and spirituality like the Jail Hermitage in Assisi".
