MEDICAL CARE AT HOME FOR ANT CANCER PATIENTS

Since 2016 the ANT team in Umbriahas been guaranteeing dignity to cancer patients in our area through highly qualified home assistance. A group of professionals goes to the patient’s house every day and offers free support, medical care, and psychological support to them and their families. A very important job that has assisted over 200 people in almost 4 years. 

The multidisciplinary team has grown in recent years and now includes Doctors Valentina, Eleonora and Sara; Nurses Elena and Angelica; the nutritionist, Deborah; the coordinator, Silvia; and the psychologist Giacomo.

Stories from the families of patients assisted by ANT

Stafano and Danilo are family members of two of the seven cancer patients whose care we are supporting through the ANT Foundation. 

Domenico has been gone for a few weeks. His grandson Danilo told us that his last months had been less difficult than expected: he wasn’t in too much pain from his illness and the ANT health team had provided him with everything he needed during their visits. 
“I really appreciated that they wanted to prevent the onset of pain. The organization was perfect. The doctor and nurse showed great professionalism and precision with constant visits, weekly blood samples, daily availability by telephone for any doubts about the medications, and there were many. What struck me, above all, was the humanity.”

Giorgio’s son, Stefano, also wanted to share his story: “My father went very quickly. Although the illness ran its course quickly, we were able to appreciate the work of the ANT Foundation staff. We found the staff well trained and efficient, but above all, they were helpful and friendly. They are special because they don’t just do a job, they carry out a mission. In this strange world, it is nice to know there are people like that. In that very difficult moment, it was important for us to be able trust these trained professionals, even if only for a reassuring phone call. I will never cease thanking them and spreading the word because those in need deserve this type of assistance".
